As 2016 draws to an end it is time to think about your year-end continuation to the programs and services you love.  This year your donation will be matched up to $5,000 and climbing!

Year End Donations Matched!
  • Your donation of $10 becomes $20
  • Your donation of $50 becomes $100
  • Your donation of $200 becomes $400
  • Your donation of any amount will be matched up to $5,000

It is very important that we finish the year in a strong financial position to continue our long tradition of fantastic programs and services.  The year-end appeal will be sent to participants and the community asking for a generous year-end donation that is tax deductible to the extent that is allowed by law, and everyone is encouraged to contribute.  The center is an integral part of and plays an important role in your life.  I hope you will consider a year-end donation to your center. Thank you for your generosity.  Each of you is greatly appreciated.

The center is closed Friday, December 23rd and Monday, December 26th for the holidays.  The center is closed Monday, January 2nd for the New Year’s Holiday.  We are also closed, Monday, January 16th to honor Martin Luther King Jr.  Please enjoy those days with family and friends.

AARP & Others Oppose Proposed United Way Funding Cuts for Seniors

How Bingo Saved This Seattle Man's Life When Bernie Sadowski first came to the Ballard Senior Center in 2009, he didn’t care about life. His wife of 50 years had died. “It was like, OK, I’ll go to sleep when I feel sleepy no matter where I was,” he said. He didn’t care if he woke up, and he didn’t know what to do with himself. Sadowski’s doctor told him he was going through depression and suggested that he get out and socialize. Sadowski’s daughter took him to the senior center. “Frankly, this saved my life,” Sadowski said.
